Performance Excellence atau Kinerja Ekselen  jelas menunjukan bahwa  "bagus"  saja tidak cukup untuk bisa memenangi  persaingan bisnis  di tingkat dunia,  perusahaan itu harus "bagus sekali" baru bisa memenangi persaingan ! Cara memimpin perusahaan pun tidak cukup hanya dengan cara yang Perintah dan Transaksional saja melainkan juga harus dapat memimpin dengan cara yang Transformational artinya bukan hanya sekedar tiori tapi bisa diterapkan  dan membuahkan hasil.

Dari Loka Karya yang dilaksanakan oleh IQA Foundation disimpulkan bahwa untuk menjadikan perusahaan itu bekinerja baik/good  maka penerepan ISO 9000 bisa menjadi kendaraan yang ampuh. Namun untuk menjadikan perusahaan lebih baik/ great  , maka diperlukan penerapan metode "Malcolm Baldridge Criteria for Performance Excellence" .

Berikut adalah sekedar refensi untuk membedakan perusahaan "bagus/ good" dan "perusahaan lebih bagus/ great"   yang disarikan dari  "Baldridge user's guide" by J Latham /J Vinyard                                        " Good versus Great "
Good organizations     focus on creating and delivery high quality products and services.
Great Organization   focus on creating and delevering products and services that the customers want and more importantly, or willing to pay for.

Good Organizations   meets standard.
Great Organization   continously learn improve.

Good Organization respond within time allocated or required by customer.
Great Organization continously strive to anticipate and change direcrtions to meet the changing needs of customer and market.

Good Organization focus on running the bussines.
Great Organization focus on running the bussines and changing the bussines.

Good Organizations employee follow procedures.
Great Organization employee not only follow the procedures but they also look for new innovative ways to accomplish the work. 

Good Organizations have smart people who manage by intituition.
Great Organization have smart people who manage by    intuition "turbo charges" with facts.

Good Organizations comply with the laws and regulation prote   regulations  protect       the public , the environment etc.
Great Organization go beyond mere compliance and focus on being good corporate citizens.

Good Organizatuios focus on the bottomline.
Great Organizations focus on creating value for multiplestakeholders.

Good Organizations focus on funcional excellence.
Great Organizations focus on the system .
